The Guide
Andrew Chorley is a true local, born and bred on the Fraser Coast he has spent a lifetime fishing these waters. His father first introduced Andrew to fishing at around the age of 5 and he has never looked back.
In his school years he spent most afternoons, weekends and school holidays fishing the local Jettys, Rock walls, lakes and beaches or hitting Hervey Bay with his Father and friends in their boat. In this time he learnt and used a huge range of techniques many which he still use’s today. At the age of 14 he was introduced to the world of Fly Fishing, after learning and practicing his casting in the back yard Andrew was off in pursuit of anything that would eat a fly. Not long after that he obtained his boat licence and was out exploring the local waters at any spare moment with both lure and fly.
Over the years Andrew has targeted the diverse range of species in his waterways and around the world on many different techniques, and enjoys travelling to different locations accross the globe learning new skills. He also spent 3 years under former well known and respected former local charter operator Mark Bargenquast, in that time he learnt how to become a successful fishing guide.
Andrew’s ability to adapt to the conditions and the species you would like to target, his local knowledge, along with a professional yet casual attitude to guiding is his key to success.
