Fishing Charters Sydney Our Sydney Harbour Fishing Charters are generally conducted in the eastern & northern sides of the harbour, including Middle Harbour, North & South Head & The Spit up towards Roseville area. We use various fishing techniques tailored to suit the expected catch on our Sydney Fishing Charters pending on season & weather. Techniques involved include; Trolling, either lures or baits, bait fishing with weighted lines in a burley trail, spinning with metal or plastic lures at surface fish in the harbour, down rigging with swimming baits at varying depths, live baiting using slimy mackerel, yellowtail or squid for some of the Harbour's brute Kingfish are all considered to maximise the catch. We can pick up & deliver you back to most Sydney Harbour locations. However please note: Some inner city wharves require bookings & attract a surcharge. |

If you are looking to jump on our famous Sydney Game Fishing Charters then you are in for a treat. Sydney is unique in the sportsfishing world.
Prepare to battle Black, Blue and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore, Mahi Mahi and even Wahoo, within 10 nautical miles of the city centre!
What can you expect to catch on our Game Fishing Charters Sydney & when?
Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tailor, Australian Salmon, Kingfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore, Yellow Tail Kingfish and more.
Water currents & temperature has an influence on what can be captured at a particular time of year. The following seasons is a general guide only.
Fishing Charters Sydney Seasons:
Summer - November to March
Marlin - predominantly Stripes and Blacks but there's also the likelihood of a Big Blue
Mahi Mahi - plentiful around offshore buoys and fish traps
Wahoo - an infrequent visitor but caught in reasonable numbers during the season
Kingfish - both in Sydney harbour, and off-shore reefs.
Autumn/Fall - April to May
Marlin - numbers starting to dwindle but they can surprise right through winter.
Mahi Mahi - depending on water temperature.
Kingfish - both in the harbour, and off-shore reefs.
Winter - June to October Yellowfin Tuna - caught trolling and by cubing in a berley trail
Albacore - "chicken of the sea" caught trolling and cubing
Light Tackle - Australian Salmon, Tailor (Bluefish), Yellow Tail Kingfish, smaller Tunas.
YACKATOON encourages Marlin tag and release, and all other fish are subject to NSW Fisheries sizes and bag limits.
Game Fishing Charters Sydney can offer A full day Game Fishing Charter (9 hours) or a half day Game Fishing Charters (5 hours).
Sport and Reef Fishing Chaters Sydney

The Sport and Reef Fishing Charter comprises drifting over reefs outside Sydney Heads in the ocean for five hours. We can travel long and wide depending upon where the fish are biting and what specific fish we are targeting.This type of fishing is generally better in the mornings as the winds tend to come up in the afternoons which can make fishing a little unpleasant. |

For those who don't want to leave the beautiful Sydney Harbour, maybe one of our private four hour Harbour Fishing experiences is for you. Our Sydney Fishing Charters are customised to suit the clients needs & requirements. We recommend a minimum of four hours & up to twelve people, but this can vary according to your request. We can even provide food & beverages for your experience with us. All you need to bring is your hat & sunglasses, we will even provide the sunscreen. We provide the following:
A unique experience - Game Fishing, a customised, intimate harbour cruise or Whale Watch adventure or give them a closeup view of one of the harbour's special events. Full Catering with Staff - or BYO. Yackatoon is fully equipped for all your catering needs.
